This Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF) Ecosystem Services Report is part of the Malaysia SDG Cities Roadmap process.
This report is prepared by Urbanice Malaysia in collaboration with and for Persatuan Rimba Komuniti Shah Alam, with the involvement of various technical departments, civil society organizations, private sector and the academia. The involvement of the stakeholders includes various consultation sessions, validations and verification of data, and of inputs and information.
In collaboration with the Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF) Society, the SACF Ecosystem Services Report serves as a preliminary report that strives to document the ecosystem services provided by a Malaysian urban forest through the case study of Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF) in Selangor.
This report is divided into 5 Chapters which give insight into the background of Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF), its assets and the management of the community forest, the stakeholders and their perceived values on the community forest and the 5 ecosystem services it provides encompassing ecological services, health and recreational services, education services, social and cultural services and economic and ecotourism services. The report concludes with some recommendations for SACF
