As part of our Community Awareness campaign, SACF Society recently organised a Nature Guides Workshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We engaged herpetologist Steven Wong to conduct this workshop which consisted of a theory and practical session. This workshop aims to train and empower community members to be forest nature guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The theory session was held online via Zoom on 28th Nov 2020 while the practical session was held at Shah Alam Community Forest on 12th Dec 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During both sessions the participants learned about the role and responsibilities of a nature guide, what tools to use, how to spot and present a species, and most importantly how to advocate the protection of forests via nature guiding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This workshop was supported by the GEF Small Grant Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
