[Video] Shah Alam Community Forest – Urban Treasure Under Threat

The Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF) is an urban treasure under threat.

The latest development plan from the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will destroy this forest plus endanger the precious wildlife here, including the Malayan Tapir. Yes, we have tapirs here!

Our SACF is a rare natural recreational space for the community, also serving as a forest research and educational center. The future generation needs this green lung to be preserved.

Please spread the word to help us save the Shah Alam Community Forest.

Our very first SACF video has been the combined effort of many hearts and many hands and produced by local filmmaker, Linus Chung.

Saving A Forest Together – indeed, the forest needs us now more than we need it.

Many researchers too came together to lend their voice and expert opinions on the biodiversity of the forest.

In no particular order, you can catch snippets of Shaq Koyok – a contemporary artist from the indigenous Temuan tribe of Selangor, environmentalist Dato Dr. Dionysius Sharma, Dr. Teckwyn Lim – a forest researcher from the University of Nottingham Malaysia, naturalist Dr. Rosli Omar, Herpetologist Steve Wong, Lawyer Theiva Lingam, Cartographer Steven Page, plus our founder, Alicia Teoh.
