SACF Nature Guides Workshop – Nov and Dec 2020

SACF Nature Guides Workshop – Nov and Dec 2020

As part of our Community Awareness campaign, SACF Society recently organised a Nature Guides Workshop.

We engaged herpetologist Steven Wong to conduct this workshop which consisted of a theory and practical session. This workshop aims to train and empower community members to be forest nature guides.

The theory session was held online via Zoom on 28th Nov 2020 while the practical session was held at Shah Alam Community Forest on 12th Dec 2020.

During both sessions the participants learned about the role and responsibilities of a nature guide, what tools to use, how to spot and present a species, and most importantly how to advocate the protection of forests via nature guiding.

This workshop was supported by the GEF Small Grant Program.
